CORPORATE WORKSHOPS

The most overlooked performance lever in your business isn’t culture. It’s physiology

Businesses invest heavily in wellbeing, culture programmes, resilience training, mindset talks, apps. Yet the people those programmes are meant to help are still arriving at work under-slept, under-fuelled and barely moving. The investment lands at the wrong level.

THE INSIGHT

Focus, energy and clear decision-making don’t run on culture. They run on the brain and the brain is a physical organ that performs exactly as well as the body supporting it.

I’ve spent over two decades working clinically in strength, conditioning and rehabilitation, currently at King Edward VII Hospital on Harley Street. The same principle holds in a boardroom as it does in a clinic: performance follows physiology.

When sleep, movement and food are working, focus, energy and good judgment follow. When they’re not, no programme can compensate, because nobody else can do that work for your people. They have to do it themselves. My job is to show them exactly how.

THE WORKSHOP

The Physiology of Performance

A session for teams and leaders on how the brain actually produces focus, energy and clear thinking and how to use exercise, nutrition and recovery as deliberate performance tools rather than lifestyle chores. Everyone leaves with evidence-based changes they can start the same day. No lifestyle overhaul and no wellness clichés.

LENGTH

45 to 60 minutes, delivered in person or virtually.

GROUP SIZE

Any team size, no equipment or preparation needed.

FORMAT

Works as a lunch and learn, an away day session or leadership meeting.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE ROOM

A self-audit, then the pattern.

This session opens with a short self-audit. Everyone plots their own energy across yesterday on their phones, which takes about thirty seconds and is usually the first surprise of the session. The results go up on screen as a single pattern and the room sees straight away that their energy isn’t random. It rises and falls on a timetable. That matters because anything running on a timetable can be changed.

None of it is theory for its own sake. Every part connects back to something the room felt that morning.

THE THREE LEVERS

What sets the timetable

Sleep

Why a bad night shows up in decision quality before anywhere else

Movement

How different kind of exercise sharpen different things, focus one day, creativity the next

Food

Why the afternoon dip has nothing to do with discipline
